We commemorate Ferdowsi Day the day of Iranian epic and honor

Dnes si v íránském kalendáři připomínáme Den perského jazyka a literatury a zároveň vzdáváme hold velkému perskému básníkovi a mysliteli Abú al-Kásimu Ferdousímu. Perský jazyk byl po staletí jazykem vědy, umění a poezie a světu dal takové velikány, jako byli Háfiz, Saadí, Omar Chajjám, Džaláluddín Rúmí a mnozí další.

Významní vědci a íránisté v Česká republika, jako byli Jan Rypka, Jiří Bečka, Věra Kubíčková a další, sehráli významnou roli při seznamování české veřejnosti s perským jazykem, perskou poezií i dalšími projevy íránské civilizace a kultury.

Velvyslanectví Íránské islámské republiky v Praze při této významné příležitosti vyjadřuje upřímné poděkování za jejich cennou práci, úsilí a přínos v oblasti poznávání perského jazyka a íránské kultury v České republice.

Today, in the Iranian calendar, we commemorate the Day of the Persian Language and Literature and pay tribute to the great Persian poet, Abu al-Qasim Ferdowsi. For centuries, Persian has been a language of science, art, and poetry, giving the world such distinguished figures as Hafez, Saadi Shirazi, Omar Khayyam, Rumi, and many others.

Prominent scholars and Iranologists in the Czech Republic, including Jan Rypka, Jiří Bečka, Věra Kubíčková, and others, have played an important role in introducing the Persian language, Persian poetry, and the rich heritage of Iranian civilization and culture to the Czech public.

On this significant occasion, Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Prague extends its sincere appreciation for their valuable efforts and lasting contributions in this field.

If the foe campaign against our homeland
It would be decayed in its wicked stand

Our will for fighting shall all be combined
To scatter those of satanic mind

We may all be killed but there’s no fear
For no foe could touch Iran’s sphere.
